If you are seeking off-beat, individual places to travel slowly and fill your days with experiences, the RARE Collection is a list of unique places to stay where the owners have built summer homes as experiences connected with rivers, valleys and forests.
RARE India invites you to curate your own unique summer itineraries drawing inspiration from our personal stories for days spent fishing on the Beas sipping a Rhododendron cocktail, trekking in the woods behind Chapslee, picnicking by the river near Soulitude, catching a local festival in a Kullu village close to ShivAdya and relaxing with a book and a cup of tea at the Wah Tea Estate in Kangra.
In the first Edition of our Himalayan retreats and Trans Himalayan lodges, you can look for detailed multiday programs as experiential itineraries, complete with access and day excursions which you can book with your travel agency or concierge partner. Himachal by RARE is a nine nights program taking you from Kangra to Kullu and ending in the heart of Shimla in our best museum hotel – Chapslee.

ShivAdya
Himachal Pradesh
|
Located 15 km from Manali city centre is ShivAdya in Karjan village. It is set amidst an apple orchard with a protected forest forming a backdrop along with views of the mountain valley. The construction concept and style of ShivAdya is local with inspiration coming from Himalayan villages, local wooden temples, colonial buildings, and old royal bungalows. The construction style is the traditional Kath Kuni which uses ample stone, wood, mud and is almost devoid of paint.
ShivAdya is perfect for those who want to explore this part of Himachal Pradesh from a mindful and fresh perspective. As an all-year destination, each season brings with it a different set of experiences and activities one can do.
